Bike parking where you expect it?
Streetsblog has a nice post on the lack of bike parking at the new LAPD headquarters. I wondered the same thing today while trying to park my bike in front of an REI store (sporting equipment and what not) today. Nothing to lock up to except stair railings, which aren’t much good for a business (aesthetics) or a cyclist.
Just a reminder to planners out there: Once you’ve checked the parking requirement, think about alternative parking (and design) too.
